This set of four leather Kansas City coasters features original Flint & Field illustrations of popular landmarks pressed into the leather. The landmarks include the shuttlecock from the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, the Western Auto sign, as well as our KC Love design.
We worked closely with our friends at Foxtrot Supply Co to have these made. The leather is a 12 ounce tan bridle from Hermann Oak tannery in St. Louis. It's one of the oldest tanneries in the nation, having actually supplied leather to the Lewis and Clark expedition. Bridle leathers are known for firmness, but have a really nice surface due to oils that are worked into the hide during the tanning process. The entire tanning process can last from weeks to over the span of a couple months. For this coaster set, each coaster is cut individually, and stamped using Foxtrot Supply Co's proprietary die process.
Coasters are 3.75" x 3.75".
Please note that due to the nature of leather and the handmade process, coaster color and finish may vary slightly.
